Description
We are expanding and looking for additional mechanics to join our team!
This is a full-time on-site role where the Bicycle Mechanic will be responsible for repairing bikes, conducting bike services and sales related to components and service .
Duties:
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers providing detailed assessments, and estimate repair costs. Deliver a positive customer experience.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, drivetrain service (both mechanical and electronic), brake bleeds, wheel truing, and suspension work on a wide range of bikes, including e-bikes.
- Bike Assembly: Assemble and prepare bikes for sale and display on the showroom floor, ensuring all bikes meet our high standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Use specialized repair apps for Di2 , AXS and eTap systems and stay updated on the latest bike technologies.
- Shop Standards: Follow our shop standards and processes in all assembly and repair tasks. Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Operate the cash register, process work orders on our system and manage inventory.
- Report inventory shortages and supply needs to the Store Manager.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, including personal and shared workspaces.
- Explain technical product or service information to customers and assist in selling products and services as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bike Mechanic, minimum of 2 years working with bike repair and maintenance.
- Passion for cycling and familiarity with high-end bikes (e.g., builds of Shimano 105 or SRAM GX AXS and higher).
- Bicycle Repair skills and qualifications.
- Must ride and be engaged in cycling, (MTB, Gravel or MTB).
- Experience with POS systems such as Lightspeed and Ascend.
- Dedication and punctuality.
- Good communication and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:
- Experience with retail.
- Certification in bicycle mechanics is a plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Compensation:
- $20-28/hr depending on experience and skills. Plus commission.
