Welcome to The Bicycle Shop . Since 1973 Bicycle Shop has been serving the local community. Family-owned business with employees at the wrench, behind the computer, on the sales floor, volunteering for Christmas Cheer, Coaching NICA, Group Rides and Events by Down East Cyclists.
At The Bike Shop, we sell Trek, Cannondale, & Electra lines. The Bicycle Gallery , located in downtown Jacksonville, NC, is our Specialized-Flagship Bike Shop. In both locations repairs are done on every brand of analog bike. As for electric bikes, we only service the above manufacturers. As part of our expertise, we provide general welding, fabrication, painting, rebuilding services, and carbon fiber repair.

Hiring an experienced Bike Mechanic with a passion for cycling.
You will be working with and alongside mechanics with a combined 110+ years of bicycle industry experience.
Repair experience a must. Riders and enthusiasts preferred. Open to all ages and levels of experience.
Fair Compensation Based on Candidate's Experience.
We work Tuesday-Saturday, 40 Hour weeks. Closed Sunday's and Monday's.

Mechanic Responsibilities
- Assemble and prepare bikes for sale and for the Show Room Floor.
- Capable of bleeding hydraulic disk brakes.
- Knowledge of Electric Bikes-Assembly and Troubleshooting
- Proficient in using Repair Bike Apps for DI2 and eTap
- Organizes and uses resources to meet deadlines while communicating about scope of work and the progress of bike repairs or upgrades.
- You’ll also be the first to have your hands-on brand-new models before they hit the sales floor.
- Perform a variety of service functions on new and used bikes.
- Prepare bikes for test rides.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Apply shop standards in the assembly and repair bikes across the full product line.
- Evaluate the mechanical condition of the product and estimate the cost of repairs.
- Provide an educated assessment for a bicycle repair for the customer that includes an estimated completion date.
- Meet or exceed shop production standards.
- Complete paperwork accurately and fully
- Operate the cash register.
- Report or record replacement parts inventory and supply shortages to the Store Manager.
- Maintain shop cleanliness including bench and common workspace.
- Install, repair, and replace equipment or accessories, such as: handlebars/wrap, kick stands, lights, seats, baskets, computers, and mirrors.
- Install and adjust brakes and brake pads.
- Install new tires and tubes.
- Clean and lubricate bicycle parts.
- Explain technical product or service information to customers.
- Sell products and services.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
