Living at Grand Canyon is a great way to explore the well known natural wonder and also the surrounding N. AZ areas of Sedona and Flagstaff!
If you love to MTB this is a great place to spend some time and learn the fun trails AZ has to offer.

We do provide a room in company housing at a minimal fee of $390 per month including utilities!! Typically 1-3 housemates that share bathrooms and kitchen space.
The housing is located inside the National park, so great access to local hiking and biking trails.
The nearest towns are 1 & 1.5 hours away. (Williams & Flagstaff)
Groceries are available in Park.
Cell service can be spotty. Verizon is the best connections speeds. Internet NOT included in housing utilities. (Starlink works great!)

Overall a great place to live and play.
Now for the job details:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead Mechanic responsibilities: Individuals expected to display expert knowledge of bicycle repair. Skills including but not limited to:

  • Bicycle Assembly and tune
  • eBike assembly and tune
  • Wheel True
  • Bottom Bracket exchange
  • Headset adjustments and rebuilds
  • Hub rebuilds/maintenance
  • Drivetrain tune and rebuild

In addition to the duties described, individuals will be expected to greet customers in a friendly manner, possess strong communications skills to execute work orders by local residents seeking bike repair.
Lead Mechanics will be responsible for the maintenance of the entire rental fleet including additional equipment and wheelchairs. Individuals will be expected to track all performed maintenance into computer data base. Lead Mechanic will be responsible to order and keep in stock all necessary parts to successfully perform maintenance schedules. Given the location inside a National Park, employees must possess a detailed knowledge of Grand Canyon geography, rules and regulations, visitor services and be able to effectively communicate them with park visitors. (Will train selected individual in Grand Canyon interpretation)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as Lead Mechanic
  • Certifications preferred or experience equal certifications required
  • Posses strong organizational skills
  • Be a self initiated learner and proactive in identifying and completing tasks
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures and protocols
  • Minimal experience working with Microsoft software: Word and Excel
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/SPECIAL TRAINING:Pre Employment drug test and annual random drug test

  • Completion of BAB annual training course
  • Complete 4 hour course detailing specific maintenance schedules appointed by Lead Mechanic
  • Attend industry maintenance courses
