Boise Bicycle Project (BBP), the preeminent bicycling nonprofit in the state of Idaho, is seeking an Executive Director to succeed retiring Executive Director and BBP co-founder, Jimmy Hallyburton. The incoming Executive Director will inherit a strong and financially stable organization with dedicated staff of 26 team members, a committed and engaged Board of Directors, a devoted cadre of volunteers, and outstanding support in the community. Timing is great for a dynamic leader to step into this opportunity and take BBP to new heights.

Overview
The Executive Director is accountable to the oversight and direction of the Board, partnering with the Board to develop and implement multi-year strategies necessary to fulfill BBP's mission, vision, and purpose, and ensure its financial viability through the effective supervision and direction of BBP programs and its staff.

The Executive Director has responsibilities and goals in the following areas:

Program development and administration.

Communications-"with the Board, with funders, community groups and organizations, and the broader community.

Relationships with staff and volunteers, maintaining a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse group of top-quality individuals.

Oversight of all areas of budgeting and finance, ensuring that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work.

Job Responsibilities
Advocating for children, families, and others that BBP serves, and communicating the urgency of BBP's mission and success of our outcomes.

Serving as a dynamic and engaging spokesperson for the organization and excelling at networking and fundraising with major donors, corporate leaders, foundations, and the communities we serve.

Maintaining positive relationships with Federal, State, County, and City officials as the chief government relations officer for the organization.

Setting annual organizational goals and objectives to meet Board expectations.

Ensuring services and fundraising relationships are sufficient to meet or exceed the necessary funds to carry out those annual goals, developing annual budgets, and providing fiscal oversight and accountability.

Leading and directing staff in the implementation of the annual goals and providing the appropriate oversight and support systems.

Providing administrative, grant management oversight and leadership of BBP program areas.

Requirements
Qualified candidates for this position demonstrate the following experience, knowledge, and skills:

Capacity to engage with and be trusted by members of the community.

Knowledge and understanding of the role of nonprofits in general and community-focused organizations specifically.

Communicate effectively with community members, policymakers and key stakeholders.

Capacity to envision and implement program growth strategies within an annual budget.

Ability to collaborate with the Board of Directors as both Executive Director and non-voting member.

Direct experience leading an experienced and dedicated staff.

Ability to retain a diverse, highly qualified staff by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development

Considerations

Commitment to the mission and values of the Boise Bicycle Project including enthusiasm for bicycles and what they can do for a community supersedes expertise in bicycle mechanics.

This is a full-time, year-round position requiring significant interaction with the Board, staff, volunteers, and members of the Boise community. Anticipated start date is early September 2023.
