UBI Portland would like to invite you to our open house, Saturday, October 24, 10 am to 5 pm. This event is officially part of the 2009 Oregon Manifest, the month-long celebration of all things bikes and bike culture in Portland.
We’ll be having a day-long frame building demonstration, mini tech clinics, tours of our facility and a meet’n'greet with UBI’s instructors. We are told that snacks and beverages will make appearances as well.
The frame building demo will end with the raffling off of two UBI-built bike frames to raise money for the Community Cycling Center’s holiday bike drive. Each $10 raffle ticket will get you one chance to win an expertly crafted bike frame built by UBI’s frame building instructors! Tickets will be available at both the UBI open house and at the Oregon Manifest Bike Union for our entire 6 weekend run of the Manifest. The first raffle will be held at the Open House. The winner will receive the demo frame being built that day. The second (custom) frame with components from Shimano, a Chris King headset and paint donated by Coat, will be raffled off at the final Oregon Manifest evening event: the celebration party for the Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships on November 7th.
