Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance Course Currently In Session
Current UBI Class In SessionThis week students from all parts of the world and from every background have converged on UBI for an Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance course. This course is designed for the beginning mechanic who wishes to learn how to maintain his or her own bicycle, from simple bearing system overhauls to complete tune-ups. Some students are even using the course to gain a more thorough foundation before taking our Professional Repair and Shop Operation course. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will receive a coveted UBI Certificate of Completion.

Rock Lobster's Paul Sadoff to Teach at UBI
Paul Sadoff, the creator and builder of Rock Lobster Cycles, will join UBI's staff of frame building instructors. Sadoff will be guest instructor of UBI's July 21 Steel TIG Welding Frame Building class. Paul is a master TIG welder and our students will have the opportunity to learn from one of the best. But if you want to take Paul's class, you will have to wait until next year: the July session is already full. We're thrilled to have Paul join our crew of ace frame building teachers, which includes Ron Sutphin, Jim Kish, Gary Mathis and Mike DeSalvo.
UBI Graduate Profiled in VeloNews
UBI Graduate Darren Murphy's innovative suspension tuning service, PUSH Industries, is profiled in the "Tech Report" section of the April 7 issue of VeloNews. Unfortunately the story is not yet on the VeloNews web site, but you can find out more about PUSH industries on their web site. Congratulations, Darren!

UBI's New Student Frame Gallery
We love showing off the frames made by students in our frame building classes.

Don't Forget Your Bike!
Southern Oregon is a cyclists paradise! When coming to UBI, most students bring their bikes, and for good reason. Ashland and the surrounding area is home to hundreds of miles of single track and abandoned jeep trails. Within just a few blocks of the school is Lithia Park, gateway to the Ashland Watershed and many miles of designated mountain bike trails, and within driving distance are trail heads through pristine mountain forests and lakes. For road riding, Ashland is the center of many popular routes offering a variety of scenery and difficulty levels - from flat winding roads which meander through beautiful pear orchards to European-style alpine climbs taking you through breathtaking pristine forests and mountain lakes. So whatever type of riding you are into, Ashland has it all, so please....Don't Forget Your Bike!
